half empty, half full

Isn't it weird, and somewhat beautiful at the same time, how no two people see the world in the same light? A common reference: is the glass half full or half empty? No matter how one tries to explain the reasoning behind their opinion, there is no right answer. Throughout our lives we meet so many people with different perspectives, either similar to our own or completely different. It’s interesting to see what others think about the world regarding politics, personal beliefs, religion, astrology, etc. I always wonder, why and how we all have different perspectives on life. We’re all created and brought into this world being naive, not knowing who we are or what our future holds. Our bodies are all built from different genetic imprints and our minds are fed with varieties of morals and values from the day we’re born. Being placed into this world by whatever almighty creator we choose to believe in, we are categorized into all sorts of classifications including race, gender, ethnicity, etc. which mold our identities. These identities shape our outlooks on life and our belief systems. It’s crazy to think how two people can grow up in the same area, but have the most conflicting ideas.
I imagine the perspectives we have as a pair of personal lenses, in which we view our reality; each one of us is handed a unique pair of lenses. Like our lenses, or our fingerprints, each person is given their distinct role in our society. It’s truly fascinating how different each and every one of us is, however we are able to coexist simultaneously in one world. To imagine how others view the world, it’s a nonstop cycle of contemplation in my head. People aren't always going to have the same beliefs as you, but at the end of the day, your experiences in this life and your view of this world is what shapes your identity. I hope that during this period of self reflection, we can all clear the lens we look through and emerge as new individuals with fresh outlooks on life, being able to appreciate the immense beauty that surrounds us. Humankind is diverse in unique opinions and ways of life, how do you see the world? How do you envision your role in other people’s lives? How do you see yourself leaving an impact on this world?
